Tour Information
Houey Hong offers visitors tours of the Centre, and introductory sessions in the use of natural dyes and silk weaving. The Centre offers half and full day tours, with visitors taking home the silk that they naturally dye and weave. Weaving and dyeing activities are suitable for all ages, with no prior experience necessary. Lunch and transport to the Centre can also be arranged.

Procedure:
About 15mn to 45 mn tie pattern on a plain white silk scarf, 15mn to 50 mn of dyeing in natural dyeing depending on what color, cold or hot dyeing, 15mn to untie the ties, rinse and dry the scarf . |

About 15mn to 30 mn of instruction hand to hand from our staff, lao traditional loom & pattern ready setup for guest, wide: 15-20 cm, supplementtary weft pattern using many colored silk, which guest can have their own weaving product at the end of the trial. |

The Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 to 4:30, with tours by appointment through either telephone, email or through the True Colour store Visit the Centre.
Getting to the centre
Houey Hong is approximately seven kilometres from Vientiane’s city centre, about a 20 minute drive. Visits to Houey Hong can be made via tuk tuk or local bus.
If you’re taking a local bus, bus numbers change regularly so just ask for around for the bus going to ‘Talad Houey Hong & Dong Dok. The trip is about 8km, get off at stop 19 after the Houey Hong Market (which will be on your right) and just before you pass the first gasoline station (on your left). Follow a small dirt road 200m west (there is a yellow sign for the Centre adjacent to the road).
Visitors can arrange trips to and from the Centre from Vientiane’s city Centre. The pick up point is at the True Colour store, on Setta Thirath Road, in the Centre of the city, opposite the Mixai Temple). Alternative locations from the city centre can be arranged by appointment Download map.
Pick up times are 8:30am and 1:30pm from the retail store True Colour, which is situated in Vientiane’s town centre, opposite the Mixay Temple. Alternative pick up locations can be arranged by appointment.
